I am Aussie (Australian) living in the UK, specifically Scotland. I have over twenty years of experience in the IT industry and specialize in virtualization, automation, and cloud technologies. My IT journey begins many moons ago in Melbourne, Australia working as a laptop technician to the present day where I am employed as Cloud Architect for a Cloud and professional services company. I have expanded my professional career by working in many different business sectors with a variety of different work colleagues from health, construction, local government, banking and global IT services. This blog is to share any gold nuggets of information that I discover in my professional and personal journey through the ever-changing world of IT infrastructure. My current skill set includes VMware, HyperV, Citrix, AWS, Azure, MS Windows, Linux, Veeam, Zerto, Fortinet. I have MS certification and looking to gain more certifications with Azure and AWS.
Currently looking to expand my knowledge into DevOps and automation, including the likes of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other products.
I have a lovely partner and four year-old son that both keep me busy and give me plenty of joy. Away from my career in IT some of other interests are sport (more watching than playing now) Football, Cricket, Aussie Rules Football, Cycling, music concerts, and hiking. I am big fan of professional cycling too.
